- that when you're in love, it shows.
- that just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
- that being kind is more important than being right.
- that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
- that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
- that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
- that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
- that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
- that when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
- that love, not time, heals all wounds.
- that everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
- that no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
- that opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
- that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
- that one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
- that a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
- that I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
- that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
- that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.
It may not be as exciting as a Real Housewives life but it's my life, and I love it.

Things I've learned...
Behind on blogging...
It seems as though I've fallen a little behind...shocking. Blogging never was my strong suit.
Lets see, what is new?? In a nutshell, not a whole lot!
We have been busy around the house, busy with bbq's, busy with Gordie, and just trying to save a little money in anticipation of our trip...197 days from today.
Unfortunately, I have no good pictures to post as my iPhone was wiped out due to my own stupidity and forgetting my passcode. Note to self: remember what password you use for things.
On the plus side... ONLY 47 DAYS UNTIL MY FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR :) Yes, you guessed it -- my birthday!!

Team Charlie Man
On Sunday, Joe and I join the Hughes/Pavlich clan for a benefit walk for Hemophilia in honor of Charlie. The weather was anything other than pleasant. A little sweat never hurt anyone though, right?
It was a great turn out and money raised for a great cause!

Little Blue Box
The little blue box... something most girls wish for and dream about. It doesn't matter what is in the box, if it's a blue box, chances are the inside will be great no matter what! Saturday I was lucky enough to get my very own little blue box. Pretty sure the gesture made my day, week and possibly lifetime.
He got me this beautiful Infinity bracelet. The meaning behind the infinity symbol is "without any limit", it's safe to say infinity is a good description of my love for this guy...and the bracelet :)
Just when I think he can't get any greater, he does something like this. As I have said many times before, I am a lucky, lucky lady to have him.
Raspberry Festival Weekend
This weekend was Raspberry Festival in Hopkins and it seemed to be over with in a blink of an eye. Friday night I headed to the bar with the boys. Joe was in rare form so I spent most of the night laughing hysterically. It's safe to say I may have lost a pound or two just from the laughter Friday night.
Saturday was a busy, busy day. We woke up early and were on the road to Wings & Whistles. It's a training facility that Gordie will be going to in the fall. We brought him out there to meet the staff and check out the facility and so they could evaluate Gord. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the people and the place. It also helped ease my mind about actually sending him away for training vs having it done at home. The trainer was very impressed with Gordie and said that the temperament Gordie has is probably only seen by about 5% of all dogs. I guess Gordie's aggressiveness towards the birds and ability to learn and adapt is a little advanced for his age. That made me have that proud "mama" moment :) Realistically, I was just happy he didn't embarrass the crap out of Joe and I. Haha. He tends to have his moments where he throws tantrums. Thankfully he was on his best behavior and knocked the socks off the trainer!
Once finished with that we headed home to get ready for a benefit we were attending for a good friend Mom who was in a car accident a few months ago and suffered traumatic brain injury. It was a GREAT turnout! From there we headed to the bar to meet everyone, hit up the beer tent, watched some fireworks and then back to the bar for some ridiculous moves on the dance floor.
It's now 7pm on Sunday and I am just now feeling a little recovered from the busy weekend.

4th of July
The 4th was spent in Bemidji this year. Joe and I decided to take a few days off around the holiday to spend the week at my parents house. And... Gordie came too. I was a bit nervous about a four hour car ride with a puppy but he was quite the trooper! He did awesome. Phew, what a relief!
Wednesday we didn't do much for the 4th as my parents had a tornado go through Bemidji the night before we got up there. So... it was a little bit of cleanup in the yard in the morning and then the rest of the day was spent enjoying the gorgeous weather.
Thursday Joe and I headed out on the lake to try a little fishing. The only thing we caught was a sun burn. A little disappointed that not one of us managed to pull in any fish but oh well... there will always be another time and another chance to catch the big one.
The rest of the weekend was spent hanging around the house out in the sun and just relaxing. Something I seem to be awful at doing but gave it my best shot :) We took Gordie into the water for the first time and he hated it. He was fine until he got his legs half way in. I'm pretty sure he hated us that day for making him swim.
We took some walks along the lake and the Mississippi. It was nice to be outdoors so much. Although I love the city life, I do at times miss how relaxing Northern MN can be. It's nice to visit :)
We also had to stop at Paul Bunyan so Joe could check it out since he's never been to Bemidji. It's definitely nothing like it was when I was a kid.
Tuesday-Sunday seemed to fly by. It was great to spend time with my family. And it was awesome to know that Joe and my family get along so well. He had only met my parents the one time so it was a nice opportunity for them to spend time together. Shockingly, even my brother approved of him :) I just may have picked the best guy out there. Haha.
After getting back we adjusted to reality rather quickly. Laundry, lawn mowing and cleaning awaited. Ugh. I am however happy to say that we are now planning a real vacation for early spring. I think just thinking about it I'm already becoming relaxed. Turquoise waters... here we come...soon.

Lindsay & Krystle's World Reunion
Saturday morning Linds came down to visit for the day/night. And... she brought a VCR so we could watch Lindsay & Krystle's World. Something neither of us have watched for a good ten years, at least. Clearly this also meant that Joe would be watching it as well. I put up quite the fuss at first as I was a little embarrassed to have him see the tape. It has so many inside jokes in it that I didn't think he'd find it amusing and quite frankly I was just flat out terrified to have him see our nerdiness from back when we were 10 years old.
Since it was two against one, I lost and Lindsay and Joe got their way to get the viewing under way. Within thirty seconds I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. What the heck were we thinking?! Who creates a show thinking they are as funny as Wayne and Garth were in Wayne's World? Oh my.
After the torture was over, I couldn't stop laughing. This also made me remember just how long Lindsay and I have been friends and why we still are. She has been an incredible friend to me over the years and I am so thankful that I have her to look back with at all the idiotic things we did. This was also the second time she's met Joe. Or in all reality, the first time her and Joe actually hung out and had more than an hour long conversation. With them both being two of the most important people in my life, I was hoping they'd get along as well as I was anticipating. What I hadn't thought of is those two ganging up on me... it quickly turned into the Joe and Lindsay show. Haha. With that being said, it's clear I had nothing to worry about with those two not getting along.
